Snapshot of the American River

If you’re looking for quick access to a “beach” without really going to one you are in luck. You may have already learned about Paradise Beach in Sacramento, but if you haven’t this article is for you.

Paradise Beach isn’t really a beach though, but you can do “beach things” here.

In the off season, Paradise Beach is one of the most pristine places to catch fish in Sacramento, and you’ll easily spot many other people doing so.

Occasionally, you’ll see a few people swimming around in the water, and if you intend to do the same just know that there isn’t a lifeguard on duty.

However, if you would like supervised swimming, the nearby Glen Hall Park offers so at their public pool.

We mentioned that Paradise Beach wasn’t really a beach, so then what is the body of water? Once you get to the designated beach area, you’ll be in front of the beauty of the American River.

Upon doing a little more digging into Paradise Beach we found out that there’s a couple of extra “Easter Eggs” that you can find if you hang around the beach long enough. Now we don’t know for sure if you will encounter one of these because allegedly this beach is also haunted!

Up and down the shoreline, a ghost has been spotted by many beach goers. Rumor has it, that this man suffered a terrible accident. We’re a bit skeptical when it comes to ghosts and things of that nature, but if you’ve encountered such an event, we’d love to hear it.

Another event that Paradise Beach is known for is for skimboarding. You’ll see many people on their skim boards gliding about on the American River. If you’re looking for something fun to do at the beach beside swimming, picnicking, or trailing be sure to give skimboarding a try.

The main feature that people seem to enjoy the most (based off the reviews) is the fishing! Many people seem to catch a lot of fish during the off-season. Give that a try if you’re new to fishing.

So, whether you are looking for something new to do, or simply check off your bucket list for things to do in Sacramento, be sure to give Paradise Beach a visit.
