The Sacramento Children’s Museum provides an ideal environment for children to learn & grow. As you journey through each section of the museum, you’ll be able to find plenty of opportunities for your child to experience independent thinking, harness their problem-solving abilities with creative exploration, and exercise of the mind and body.

The exhibits in the museum include:

  1. Waterways – children will be able to experiment with water flow, boat building, whirlpool creation, build a city with Aqua Bricks, board a canoe, and so much more…. Prepared to get a little wet!
  2. Studio of the Arts! – An excellent opportunity for messy fun, self-expression, and creativity is sure to flare with a painted wall and the creation of something new for recycled materials. Children leave this section with the satisfaction that they completed something!
  3. Story Factory – In here, you’ll be able to experience structured literacy activities and programs along with literacy exploration and readings to visitors!
  4. Leo’s Market – Children will be able to work cash registers, stock shelves, sort veggies, and fruits, and have a fun role-playing experience that will help them learn various concepts such as measuring, cooperating, nutrition, counting, and sorting.
  5. My Neighborhood – My Neighborhood uses storytelling coupled with role-playing in order to create cultural awareness and to break down cultural walls. Traditions and families will be celebrated as it relates to each child and family, so there is not one experience that is exactly like the other!
  6. Mr. Noodles’ Forest – Mr. Noodles’ Forest provides children with a forest of pool noodles that are suspended from the ceiling…. This is sure to provide an interesting sensory experience for all.
  7. Leo’s Community Garden – You’ll spot this garden right outside the museum, and you can find herbs, veggies, flowers, which will help children will learn about gardening, bugs, soil, and many other things.
  8. Gear Up! – With a topic like math and engineering, what’s not to like about this exhibit already? Children will work with gears, form moving systems, and learn key concepts like division, multiplication, subtraction, and addition.
  9. Cityways – Children will find a large table with the cityscape of Sacramento in this exhibit. Furthermore, they’ll be able to build buildings, expand upon the city’s capital, and navigate boats in the area!
  10. Airways and Raceways – The experience of acceleration, friction, motion, gravity, and velocity are all things that children will have fun with at this exhibit. Principles demonstrated by Galileo and Sir Isaac Newton will be discovered here!
