air conditioning repair and tune up
Many people often wonder if it’s necessary to get their HVAC systems inspected year-round, and unfortunately for many, they find out a tad bit too late that having a tune-up could have saved them thousands.

We decided to add an addendum to all our other articles about saving money to discuss three of the 26 elements we look at in a tune-up, and why we inspect what we inspect these things. We hope that by having this insight you’ll be better informed as to what a proper inspection looks like, why it’s important to get this done twice a year, and that it will give you the inspiration to get this done.

So, without further to-do, here’s our tune-up checklist, along with why that thing is important:

it was hard deciding what to pick out of our 26 point inspection so we chose these three at random
  1. Check and clean condenser coils and fans.
    • Over time, your condenser coils will accumulate dust and if this is the case, the coils will have a reduced ability to absorb heat. When this occurs, your systems will work harder to heat up your home and raise your utility costs.
  2. Check and clean evaporator coils and squirrel cages.
    • Much like the condenser coil, the evaporator coil can also collect dust, and will work harder to absorb heat and moisture from the air. If the evaporator coil fails to absorb these elements, you’ll have a more humid and warmer environment to deal with.
  3. Test thermostats and wiring.
    • Your energy bill can rise exponentially if your thermostat is off even by 1 degree. Having this 1-degree difference makes the difference because your furnace or AC unit will have to work slightly harder in order to reach the desired levels. Furthermore, having a faulty thermostat has typically meant a difference of more than 1 degree for many past customers.

Our inspection processes are much more thorough than this but rest assured that our 26-point inspection covers more essentials to ensure that your HVAC systems last their full intended lifespan. Our HVAC technicians understand how to thoroughly assess systems for maximum efficiency and will work to ensure your home is the right temperature year-round.
